Tracey Hathaway

With 20 plus years of experience in Higher Education, Tracey is a longtime advocate for athletes and the role of athletics in the university landscape. Through her various roles as athletic administrator, coach, and former Division 1 athlete, Tracey has spent her career creating diverse and inclusive athletic environments and motivating students to achieve both athletic and academic goals. Her experience includes serving as the Director of Athletics at Salem State University (MA), and Associate Director of Athletics at both University of Massachusetts-Boston (MA) and Concordia University (TX). In these roles, Tracey implemented new strategies for development of athletic departments, sport oversight, and academic liaison. Her experience also includes a position as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Roger Williams University (RI).

Tracey is currently the Program Director at Stack Education, an IT boot camp. In this role, she teaches a professional acceleration course, supervises all program operations for Data Science and Web Development courses, and devises and implements individualized, goal-oriented platforms to assist students. A Worcester, Massachusetts native, Tracey gained her education as an undergraduate at the University of Rhode Island, and as a graduate at Northeastern University. She is currently in the process of completing her PhD at the University of Massachusetts-Boston where she has researched the experiences of black, female student athletes. In her free time, Tracey is a mother, an aunt, a chef, a fisher(wo)man and a mentor.
